FYI
Posted by Seth, former INS artist who now works for a AAA studio, on the forums:
Just an FYI, Jeremy has been banned from the forums. Thought you folks might be interested
Also FYI: Talks are initiating between the original developers and current developers. We have proof of our IP ownership (and yes, my name is on it too) that is the cornerstone of functionality for the game and is still being used and distributed over Steam without our permission.

the game was released by the person who you gave the reigns to, the only way your gonna get anything done is the little loophole in steam, you can force them to stop distributing over steam but they can still distribute by other means. Truthfully, I would rather see it go down in flames than see a person like yourself take over because you are good at paperwork. I am ashamed that valve is doing this but I guess it was in their contract or whatever, and I’m pretty sure they will have to rethink that. To all of the people that contributed everything else, I would claim ownership and take it elsewhere. Don’t let these guys win because they are bully’s, their foundation was released by Jeremy, whom argyle freely admits he gave the ability to make decisions.
To Argyle: I know your not gonna post this, but this is how I feel, you are a whiny dreamer who thinks he has all the answers, but developing a game is about more than hockey metaphors. I am surprised that you are being so open about this, if I were you I would be very ashamed of myself. Yes you contributed, but the game is no more your IP than any other single person, it belongs to the Insurgency Team. You are undermining the modding community and opening the door for god knows who else to claim some tiny little detail and have games removed from distribution. You are hurting the modders, the player, and the community in general. I sure hope you know what your doing because now that you made this big stink if you fail, you will look like an enormous asshole, and I for one will be there every step of the way pointing out every flaw, because though i have never met you, I really dislike you, the arrogance you show is beyond comprehension.
Jeremy, James (Pongles), and myself share ownership of the IP to the framework that makes up the gameplay foundation of the mod. We have the supporting documentation, source code, and assets to prove it.
It’s like holding your child while feeding it a bottle of milk, then having to pass it on to someone you thought you could trust, to go and do something, you come back and they are feeding your child a bottle of Pepsi… so you want to get the child back and feed her milk again so she can be healthy and grow.
Or like abandoning your baby in a dumpster and later finding out that the baby was adopted by wealthy people, so you decide to kidnap the baby to try to get in on the scratch
Metaphors make everything true.
LOL at leaving it in a dumpster. Slightly wrong there. I wouldnt refer to Jeremy (previous lead of Red Orchestra) as that in any way shape or form.
You mean COMPLETELY RIGHT! Argyll abandoned ins. Other people picked it up and developed it. Version 1.0 was released with Jeremy at the helm. V2.0 with Spielmann.
FYI: Rumor has it that Jeremy was kicked from the RO team before they went retail. They booted him, got their act together, and went retail.
What is really funny is what Argyll thinks he’s going to get away with. Either this will blow over like every other interwebs drama or Argyll will prove he owns the game and all of the current developers will remove their own work from the project leaving him with whatever part of the project that he owns, effectively killing ins. It seems like a selfish power play (hey hockey again) to me.
this is getting interesting…. really intersting
Tim, I think you forgot that Argyll was banned from the community he created by the current devs. INS under Argyll was better then INS now. I dont think Argylls hurting anyone by doing this, certainly not the players or the “modding community”. The worst that happens is INS is removed from Steam and the current team is too busy with life to release it non-steam, and so the five lines of code we have for B3 will sit and rot. Best that happens is Argyll can work with the current devs as well as recruit more and turn INS around.
I don’t know what I feel about “Argylls methods”. All I know is that I don’t like method of the current ones and I thing Argyll says and have said stuff that really speaks to me =).
And now the best thread in a long time is locked at insmod forums… just because not much have happened in a while they don’t have to kill what is left.
Oh well, I hope you can do good stuff for Ins Argyll, it would make at least me happy!
It’s not surprising – endless had been stamping his authority all through that thread, and had already made it obvious the same worthless people were in charge and would see to it nothing changed for the good. Must be two years now this game has been run in to the ground – I’ll be glad if endless/Spielmann have it taken away.
They’ve already back-tracked, by the way. Apparently they don’t want to make it too obvious they’re sole aim is to kill the game.
Which thread is that? I have been banned, but still can view threads.

INS was successful BEFORE argyll was banned.
This is like having your middle class baby stolen and finding out that some poor ass ghetto people took the kid and are making it into a ghetto baby, and you try to steal it back.
+1
Revision…
You are teaching the baby to count, shapes, colors, etc, and you leave it with a friend for a little while. You come back, the friend is beaten, and the baby is gone. You think about this every day for 2 years (time current devs held power?) and then see some ghetto people holding your baby teaching it how to hold a handgun and feeding it booze.
The “INS: Looking into the future” http://forums.insmod.org/index.php?showtopic=22059 by Jeremy.
…. aaaaaaaaaaaaand now it is deleted lol :P. GZ ins devs ^^.
Good bye Jeremy. Fuck it all.
for those who dont think argyll will make a difference, then ask your self this “will it matter if he doesnt?” seeing as the mod has been in the same spot for ages it can only go forward.
quote by spielman “His account was temporarily suspended. It’s already re-enabled.”
quote by caught off guard “why would you temporarily or permanently suspend his account?”
good question, the current ‘devs’ did not reply.
LOL however this is funnier:
Endless @ 9.54PM: “You can see by watching the member status that he is not banned ffs. ”
Dr. Spielmann @ 9.58PM “His account was temporarily suspended. It’s already re-enabled. In all honesty there’s no need to make a fuss about it… he’s free to post anytime he wants. ”
Endless = PR FAIL
In other news Jeremy hasn’t been back in that thread. :(
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/insnoconfidence if you agree! :)
well there was a vote of no confidence thread on the ins forums but its got deleted
shows how much the devs care really imo
well looks like spielman stepped down, and adding a note of recommendation saying not to let jeremy or argyll take the reins. endless and i think he said toxic were to be the higher ranking modders until a project lead is found. i think he knows working on the beta3 and neglecting the mod as what it is, is futile. my disappointment is at the fact that he wasted alot of time to come to this conclusion, i would prefered he left before the mod was admitted to the intensive care ward. arrogance and personal pride has killed this mod, the players/fans have been strong as they suffered with the mod aswell as patient to have stuck with it for so long despite the current development team.
Anyone knows what Jeremys plans are?
From what I read there are three possibilities:
1. He takes over Insurgency and continues to develop Beta 3
2. He does not take over Insurgency and makes his own beta 3 like he wrote in his petition.
3 He completely abandons the source engine and works on what he calls “Insurgency 2″ like he wrote here (http://forums.beyondunreal.com/showthread.php?p=2424138)
Or will there be a mix of those?
We are negotiating getting the mod back, stay tuned fellas
